2. Style: (5 sentences. What visual characteristics does this artist’s work possess? If you can compare it to a painting or art history style please do.)
Knight takes so many different kinds of photos that it’s hard to attach one single style to his artwork, but he definitely enjoys landscapes and the environment. A lot of his photos are taken in nature and just are beautiful pictures of the earth, which is my favorite kind of photography. Part 2
For this photo, I tried to recreate the hockey scene in my basement, so obviously it is quite a bit different than an actual locker room. The details of the background definitely are very different, but the main idea of the photo is very similar and the action pre game shot of the players are very similar. I took my version and made a few edits on the image in photopea as well as turning the photo into a black and white to make it look more similar to the original image and it definitely helps turn the image into a serious tone and emphasizes the face shot.
Gametime. Time for War.

Both of these photos were taken in front of lakes and they both are in black and white, making it into a cool dynamic photo. They both incorporate this mysterious look out into the open, which makes it emphasize this storyline of a journey behind the picture. There are a few differences in the background for sure because of the wavy lake his photo has. I couldn’t really incorporate that aspect into mine because the lake I was at was very still, but overall they are pretty similar and are very interesting photos.
Life. Cloudy thoughts.

This is my favorite one in which there is so much possibility and life in this one shot of an open field, and one has the sunset and the other on kind of a sulky day. They are both taken with very similar backgrounds and look very similar, but Knight’s looks a little bit better with the sunset and mine can incorporate different thoughts. Overall though both photos incorporate this concept of possibilities and can put the viewer in so many different moods, making these photos great.

6. Personal Artist Statement: Your images should tell a story. In 5 sentences tell me about your images. Use Visual Literacy vocabulary to enhance your report.
This report means a lot because I know how much love Knight has for photography because I’ve seen it in person, and recreating some of his photos has been really fun. The first photo I chose to do was the hockey photo in the locker room and I was actually in that locker room for the photo, so I definitely enjoyed this one. This photo brings a serious and firey love for my favorite sport, hockey, and there's nothing better than taking photos of something you love. The lake photo incorporates how photography can be of anything and can tell a story in its own way, capturing the journey people can have in life and all of its possibilities. The last picture is a good closing one because for me I see it and think about life and how many open possibilities there are, and how much open land there is in our world.
